Gathering to Celebrate Rachel

This is a temporary site to share information about the upcoming celebration of life in Minneapolis. We (the Minneapolis organizers of the event) are also collecting stories and photos to share both on this site and at the event. This site will stay online through the Minneapolis gathering but will be taken down at some point after, it is not meant as a permanent archive.
We’ll be gathering in Minneapolis to celebrate and honor Rachel on Sunday, October 12th. Everyone is welcome!
There will be three events (or “acts”) happening throughout the day on October 12

If you would like to volunteer to help on the day please fill out this FORM to let us know.
If you’re able to make a small donation to offset the costs of the event (food etc) you can VENMO Miriam Must. Any money not used for the event will go towards the cost of archiving Rachel’s work.
For Act 3 at A-Mill we’ll have food and some NA beverages, but if you would like to bring a bottle of wine or other beverage to share please do.
Act 1: 10:00am – 12:00pm CDT
A group walk around Lake of the Isles to honor Rachel’s love of walks.
Location: We’ll be meeting where West 22nd Street runs into Lake of the Isles Parkway East
Act 2: 1:00pm – 4:00pm CDT
A gathering in an outside location for people to share and listen to stories/readings/words for Rachel.
Location: TBD. Most likely the location will be the Nicollet Island Amphitheater (the outdoor space to the northeast of the pavilion). Details are still being finalized. Please check back here for final location.
Everyone is invited to share with the group (open mic). If you would like to sign up ahead of time for a speaking slot please do so on this FORM.
Time permitting, once everyone who has signed up has spoken we’ll open the mic to anyone present.
There will be some chairs provided but if you would like to bring a camping chair or blanket to sit on please do.
Act 3: 5:00pm – 8:00pm CDT
An informal indoor gathering at A-Mill Artist Lofts, where Rachel lived most recently.
Location: A-Mill Artist Lofts, 315 SE Main St, Minneapolis, MN
An assortment of appetizers will be provided. Feel free to bring a bottle of wine or other beverage to share.
